Art for a Day

email: enquiry@artforaday.co.uk

At any of our events you will be buying directly from the dealer who has the piece of art, or the artist. Therefore your transaction is with them. We provide credit/debit card facilities via a chip and pin terminal at events, a service for which each seller at the event contributes towards the cost of the card transaction and they receive the reimbursement for their sales after each event from ourselves.

VAT
V.A.T. (Value Added Tax) is not applicable on second hand goods, so for items sold the dealers use the marginal VAT accounting scheme, whereby if they are VAT registered they VAT on their profit

Delivery
If you cannot take a work away with you on the day the seller may be able to arrange delivery to you, please discuss that direct with the seller of the item on the day.
If you wish to check this out in advance please contact us by email on enquiry@artforaday.co.uk

EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
We will take public liability insurance for any venues we hire, as organisers, but we require that exhibitors to do the same to cover any eventuality to visitors which arise from an exhibitor’s stand, equipment or stock. Minimum exhibitor cover required is £2m public liability, we recommend £2m as a standard. See below for example costs from a recommended single-event or annual policy insurer.

Every exhibitor shall participate in the event at their own risk, and shall absolve ArtForADay.co.uk from responsibility for such risks, including personal injury, loss or damage to property: however this injury, loss or damage may be caused whether by fire, theft, inclement weather, interruption of power, defect in the equipment and building or failure of subcontractors or agents to perform.

Every exhibitor accepts liability for all acts or omissions of himself, his servants, contractors and agents and undertakes to indemnify ArtforADay.co.uk against all liability in respect thereof and against all actions, suits, proceedings, copyright infringements, claims, demands, costs and expenses whatsoever which may be taken or made against ArtforADay.co.uk or incurred or become payable by it arising therefrom or in respect thereof, including any claims arising out of the supply by the exhibitor of samples of any kind whatsoever, whether such samples be sold or given away free and including without limitation any legal costs and expenses and any compensation costs and disbursements paid by ArtforADay.co.uk on the advice of our solicitors to compromise or settle any such claims.

Whilst ensuring each event is well marketed in a professional manner in the region where each one-day event takes place, we cannot be held responsible for loss of profits, for damage or theft of exhibitors stock, interruption of power or services, or failure of press advertisement fully contracted to appear, inclement weather and failure of sub-contractors or third parties to undertake their duties, which may result in loss to exhibitors. We do not provide insurance cover for theft or damage to exhibitors stock and recommend that their take adequate insurance against all risks. It is a condition of booking that exhibitors absolve ArtforADay.co.uk from, and responsibility for, refunding fees paid by them except as specified under these conditions

Recommendation for exhibitor insurance: examples as at July 2011 for a single event policy for a stall holder were:
£59.51 for £2m public liability cover, or
£74.65 for £5m cover.

Examples at the same time for an annual policy based on average 4 events a month, so max’ 48 events attended per annum, were as follows:
£2m public liability cover £258.39
£5m cover £308.85

These do not cover any stock cover, only public liability, please ask an insurer to add other cover to your policy if you wish
